Our holiday shopping night turned out to be such a success, Twig would like to thank all who came out to show us some love! We had the opportunity to raise some money for Project Safe House and many of you donated items that we will be delivering to them just in time for Christmas. If you didn't get a chance to donate during our event and want to participate, we are gladly accepting items up until Christmas eve. Just check the list provided below to find the items allowed for donation. Thank you again for all your support through 2011, we wish everyone a happy holidays and look forward to another exciting new year with YOU!

XOXO -Twig

NEEDS LIST for Project Safe House:

* Small musical instruments

*  A working microwave—for our transitional housing program

* New or gently used women's, children's, or babies' clothing. Survivors often leave their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

* Baby/Children items — diapers of all sizes, baby wipes, baby food, formula, baby socks, new car seats, strollers, and toys. Many of the survivors we serve come to our shelters with babies and small children who quickly go through these items.

* Non-perishable foods — pasta, rice, canned goods, peanut butter, etc. At any given time, we must have enough food on hand to provide approximately 150 meals a day.

* Grocery store gift cards (like Albertsons, Food4Less, Vons, or Ralphs). These are used to purchase perishable foods, like bread, milk, and eggs.

* Gift cards to superstores (like Target).

* Vouchers for taxi companies (like Yellow Cab). Survivors and their children break away from violent situations 24 hours a day, and need flexible reliable transportation to get to safety.

* Hotel vouchers and gift certificates. When our shelters are full, these are sometimes the only way we can offer a safe refuge for survivors in crisis.

* New sweat suits of all sizes. Clothing is taken away from sexual assault survivors for evidence at the hospital.

* New undergarments and sleep wear, all sizes. The need for new, clean underwear for all of our survivors and their children cannot be overlooked.

* Gift cards to Payless Shoe Store. Children's feet grow fast!

* Paper products — paper towels, toilet paper, etc.

* Personal care items — toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, and brushes.

* Art supplies — new pads of drawing paper, acrylic paint, modeling clay, scissors, glue sticks, colored pencil sets, watercolor paint sets, brushes, poster board, construction paper, and white all-purpose glue. We use art supplies for many of our programs, ranging from our prevention-oriented after-school youth programs to art therapy for children exposed to domestic violence.

Me, oh my! What a great turn out Casino Night was. Team Twig would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you whom attended, donated or contributed in any way, shape or form. With your help we raised over $3,000 for the Whitney Perez Medical Fund. We are elated with how the night went. This was definitely one for the books!

Thank you again for coming through and supporting such an important cause that personally means so much to us at Twig. We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did.
