The 23rd Annual Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade makes the scenic bayside streets of San Diego come alive with excitement. Once again, the Parade, presented by San Diego County Credit Union - A Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl Production, will precede the Holiday Bowl football game at Qualcomm Stadium.
The Big Bay Balloon Parade brings together world-class marching bands from all over the country, magnificent floats, entertaining drill teams, and a procession of enormous balloons, which is more than any other parade in the country, including the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Over 100,000 street-side spectators will line the streets to enjoy the parade along with a nationwide television audience.
Parade festivities begin in the television broadcast area, where the final results of the annual Wienerschnitzel Wiener National Dog Races and the Bumble Bee Foods 5K are announced. After the parade, hang out and enjoy the Family Festival as activities continue at the Broadway Pier with lots of games, rides, food, a battle of the bands, and a variety of entertainment. The Bumble Bee 5K starts in front of the Holiday Inn on the Bay and ends at Ruocco Park.
Grandstand tickets are available for $20. Children under 3 yrs are free if they sit on your lap. The Parade begins Near the County Administration Building on Harbor Drive and ends at the corner of Harbor Drive and Pacific Coast Highway near Seaport Village.
